Ingredients

  • 30 g butter
  • 60 g streaky bacon chopped
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 300 g potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 2 large carrots peeled and cubed
  • 3 cabbage leaves shredded
  • 3 large tomatoes chopped
  • 1.25 lt chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 75 g pasta shells
  • 3 tbsp parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  • Melt the butter and fry the bacon and vegetables in a pan until soft.
  • Transfer to the slow cooker and add the stock.
  • Add remaining ingredients except the pasta, parsley and parmesan. Stir well.
  • Add remaining ingredients except the pasta, parsley and parmesan. Stir well.
  • Cover slow cooker with lid and cook for 7 hours.
  • Add the pasta shells and parsley and cook for further 45min.
  • Season with salt and pepper, before serving sprinkle with parmesan.
